Andy | 30 June, 2011

Ginger will be playing a FREE gig at The Asylum in Birmingham on July 6th as a warm up for this year’s Sonisphere Festival.

Ginger will be joined by ‘Random’ Jon Poole, Rich Jones & Denzil, and will play both an electric and an acoustic set. Support will come from Exit_International and Vincent & The OnePotts to entertain you in between sets.

There are no tickets – just turn up and enjoy the party! Doors open at 7pm and the night will finish at 10.30pm. We have a capacity of 500 so should be able to accommodate everyone. Please note this is strictly an 18+ gig.

Remember this is a FREE gig, so get down early & bring your friends with you for a very special night. There will also be an exclusive Asylum t-shirt available just for this gig.

Ean | 5 May, 2011

Ginger, Jase and Jon were interviewed by Tom Russell of Rock Radio in Scotland yesterday before their show at Glasgow’s Apollo 23.

As well as having a chat about current musical goings-on, the guys performed an acoustic version of Cheers.

The whole thing was videoed for posterity and you can watch it at the Rock Radio site.

Kris | 20 June, 2010

Ginger had two glorious appearances at the Download festival last weekend. Firstly with the Michael Monroe band headlining the pepsi max stage. See the download site for Michael Monroe photos

The next day in a welcome diversion from the unexpected rain, Ginger and 8 other acoustic guitar wielders set about rousing the crowd with a succession of Wildhearts classics in a format dubbed ‘guitarmageddeon’. The crowd was in fine voice and Ginger commented afterwards on Twitter: “Back from Download. Had WAAYYY too much fun. Acoustic set was an AMAZING experience. Thank you for being so wonderful”

The full line up was as follows:

  • Adam (No Americana)
  • Dave Kerr
  • Rich Jones
  • Billy Morrison
  • Ginger
  • Jase Edwards

  • Dav (No Americana)
  • Tom Spencer
  • Denzil (drums)

See the following YouTube links for a few samplers of the mayhem.

  • TV Tan
  • Geordie In Wonderland
  • I Wanna Go Where The People Go
  • Sick of Drugs
  • Suckerpunch

There are also photos by Mark Lathem
